Order a Sample
Wood changes with the room, so every Carlisle sample is cut from a real floor and finished by the same hands that will finish yours. Because color changes most with its surroundings, it’s the only choice we ask you to make now. Each complimentary sample arrives on 8″ White Oak in Heirloom grade with a Super Matte sheen, ready to ship. Choose up to four colors, build your own mix, or let a Carlisle consultant assemble a kit for you.

Heirloom grade, Super Matte
Or one custom kit, built for you
For all curated sample requests
However you begin, the goal is the same: a finish that feels at home in your space.
Every sample here is cut on the same 8″ White Oak, Heirloom grade, Super Matte, so what changes between two of them is the color and nothing else. Order the texture you are considering, or both.
No colors match those filters — clear one to widen the field.
Our curated colors all started this way — a client brought us something to hit, and our colorists hit it. The service never stopped being free. It starts with one question.
Both answers reach our colorists. They just change what we work from.
This tells the colorists what to trust in your photo and what to ignore.
Two or three beats one. Different times of day beats different angles.
- 01 Put something known in the frame A sheet of plain white printer paper next to the surface — or better, a Carlisle sample you already have — gives our shop a fixed point to correct your photo against. It is the single biggest thing you can do for accuracy.
- 02 Shoot in daylight, near a window No flash, no overhead lights. Lamplight and LED both push wood tones in directions your eye corrects for and a camera does not.
- 03 Fill the frame with the surface Straight on, close, no strong shadow across it. Then one wider shot so we can see the room it lives in.
- 04 Send the original file Not a screenshot, and not through a messaging app if you can avoid it. Both throw away color information before it reaches us.
A match that works under one light can miss under another. Knowing your room lets our colorists judge the match in the light it has to live in.
Nearest one is fine. Nothing here is locked in.
This is usually where the useful information lives. It should never be the price of admission.
Curated colors ship fastest. Start there, or have our colorists find the color you are after.

While the box travels
Lay the pieces on the floor, not the counter, and look in morning light, afternoon light and lamplight. Wood moves more between those three than it does between two colors on a screen. Your consultant can walk the comparison with you on a call whenever you are ready.
