Wood changes with the room, so every Carlisle sample is cut from a real floor and finished by the same hands that will finish yours. Because color changes most with its surroundings, it’s the only choice we ask you to make now. Each complimentary sample arrives on 8″ White Oak in Heirloom grade with a Super Matte sheen, ready to ship. Choose up to four colors, build your own mix, or let a Carlisle consultant assemble a kit for you.

Every sample here is cut on the same 8″ White Oak, Heirloom grade, Super Matte, so what changes between two of them is the color and nothing else. Order the texture you are considering, or both.

How to shoot it so we can match it

01 Put something known in the frame A sheet of plain white printer paper next to the surface — or better, a Carlisle sample you already have — gives our shop a fixed point to correct your photo against. It is the single biggest thing you can do for accuracy.
02 Shoot in daylight, near a window No flash, no overhead lights. Lamplight and LED both push wood tones in directions your eye corrects for and a camera does not.
03 Fill the frame with the surface Straight on, close, no strong shadow across it. Then one wider shot so we can see the room it lives in.
04 Send the original file Not a screenshot, and not through a messaging app if you can avoid it. Both throw away color information before it reaches us.

While the box travels

Look at them at three times of day.

Lay the pieces on the floor, not the counter, and look in morning light, afternoon light and lamplight. Wood moves more between those three than it does between two colors on a screen. Your consultant can walk the comparison with you on a call whenever you are ready.
