For their Long Island residence, the homeowners wanted a floor that would enhance the openness of large, sun-filled rooms. They were drawn to a surface that felt expansive, refined, and perfectly scaled to the architecture.

Carlisle crafted Rift & Quartersawn White Oak in impressively wide and long planks, paired with a custom whitewash stain. The linear grain and natural ray flecks of the oak are highlighted by the finish, creating a floor that is both luminous and timeless.

The effect is a clean, airy interior with a sense of continuity and balance. Carlisle’s handcrafted planks minimize seams while maximizing scale, making the floor an essential part of the home’s bright and inviting design.
