Custom Distressed Eastern White Pine Grounds a Rustic Mountain Retreat

Project Overview

Set against the dramatic landscape of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, this rustic getaway called for a floor that felt both enduring and lived-in. The homeowners wanted a surface that would age gracefully, telling the story of their family over time.

Carlisle crafted Eastern White Pine planks up to 20 inches wide, face-nailed and finished on-site with Tung Oil for a warm, natural tone. Cherished for its subtle knots and simple grain, Pine was intentionally chosen to “wear in,” gaining character through the dings and dents of daily life.

More than a design choice, the floor becomes a living record of the home itself—an honest expression of rustic beauty that will deepen in character with every passing year.
